More than 30 Azerbaijani students took part in a competition honouring Jinnah’s leadership and legacy

The Pakistan Embassy in Azerbaijan commemorated the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah by organising an essay competition in Baku, aimed at promoting awareness of Pakistan’s founding father among Azerbaijani students.

More than 30 students participated in the competition, demonstrating keen interest in Jinnah’s leadership, vision and legacy through their written submissions.

Three students were selected for their outstanding essays and received prizes from Pakistan’s Chargé d’Affaires, Sara Ijaz, during a ceremony held in the Azerbaijani capital.

The event was also attended by the pro-rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages, underscoring the growing academic and cultural engagement between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

The embassy shared photographs and videos from the event on social media platform X, highlighting the enthusiasm of participants and the success of the initiative.

According to the embassy, the competition reflected the strengthening cultural and educational ties between the two countries, particularly through youth engagement and academic collaboration.

The event also sought to promote a deeper understanding of Pakistan’s history and Jinnah’s vision among Azerbaijani students, encouraging dialogue and appreciation of shared values such as education, mutual respect and international friendship.

Essay competitions and similar educational activities have increasingly featured in overseas commemorations of Jinnah’s birth anniversary, serving as a platform to engage younger generations with his legacy and contributions to the creation of Pakistan.
