Police have registered two cases under the Anti-Terrorism Act against 41 workers and office bearers of the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), including the district and Qasimabad tehsil emirs, for allegedly continuing political and religious activities despite the federal government ban.

According to officials, on the directives of higher authorities, cases were filed at Cantt and Qasimabad police stations. The FIR stated that the accused gathered outside Hyderabad Press Club despite the ban, raised slogans to recruit people into the banned organisation, and fled when police attempted arrests.

Three suspects – Mufti Mansoor Karimi, Muhammad Rehan Kashmiri and Muslimuddin Jamali – were shown arrested on the spot.

The FIR alleged they were inviting people to join organisational activities near the Sui Gas office.

All seven arrested leaders and workers were presented in the Anti-Terrorism Court, which sent them on 7-day judicial remand to Central Jail Hyderabad.
