Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa players produced a commanding performance at the All Pakistan National Junior Squash Championship 2026, sweeping both the men’s and women’s titles in the event organized by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Directorate General of Sports.

The closing ceremony, held here on Friday afternoon, was graced by Adviser to the Chief Minister on Sports and Youth Affairs, Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand, who distributed prizes among the winners. Director General Sports Tashfeen Haider, Director Operations Jamshed Baloch, former World No 2 Mohibullah Khan, Deputy Director Kashif Farhan, Assistant Director Ashfaq Ahmad, Senior Coach and Organizing Secretary Manawar Zaman, Wazir Khan, Administrator Yousaf Afridi and other dignitaries were also present.

In a thrilling women’s final, Sehrish Ali of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa displayed remarkable resilience to overcome Mah Noor Ali 3-2 and claim the national championship title.

The men’s final was an all-K-P affair, with Danish Sikandar defeating Muhammad Fawad Khan to secure the gold medal.

Sehrish Ali had earlier reached the final by defeating Punjab’s Faiqa Fida in the semi-finals, while Mah Noor Ali advanced after beating Ayesha Shahid, also of Punjab. On the men’s side, Danish Sikandar defeated Muhammad Mamoon Khan of Pakistan Air Force, and Muhammad Fawad Khan got the better of Faizan Ali Khan of army.

Addressing the ceremony, Adviser Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand expressed delight over Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s clean sweep. “It is highly encouraging to see our players winning both titles,” he said, adding that the province has always been a breeding ground for squash talent and has produced players who brought laurels to Pakistan on the international stage.
